The 2025 Emerging Technologies Olympiads (ETO 2025), the combined finals for the 8th International Blockchain Olympiad (“IBCOL 2025”) and the 5th International Data Science Olympiad (“IDSOL 2025”), organized by the Königsberger Brückeninstitut MTÜ (“KBI”), was held last week, sponsored by RedotPay, and supported by Airwallex, Google, Canva, Alibaba Cloud, PwC Hong Kong, IEEE Hong Kong Section, InvestHK, Startmeup.HK, DBS, HKSSA, GGC, CityU Data Science, HKMU School of Science and Technology, and other academic institutions in HKSAR
The Olympiad Exhibition was held on 29 October 2025 at the Diocesan Girls’ School (DGS) concurrently with the DGS AI Fair. In addition to over 100 attendees interacting with 40 project holders, the Olympiad Exhibition was visited by esteemed academics and industry leaders, as well as over a thousand students and parents from Hong Kong secondary schools.
The Olympiad Symposium was held on 31 October 2025 at the Swire Blueprint event space, hosting 25 project holders for stage presentations to a panel of judges from academia, government, and industry, including representatives from RedotPay, PwC, Linux Foundation, and emerging technology startups from Hong Kong Science Park.
IBCOL and IDSOL invite students to explore blockchain, cryptography, trust technologies (“BCTT”) and data science and artificial intelligence (“DSAI”) by proposing or producing projects focused on practical applications themed around the Sustainable Development Goals (“SDG”). IBCOL and IDSOL alumni worldwide leverage their experience and the community to work in deep tech or enterprise solutions across various industries, as well as in entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial pursuits.
While IBCOL 2025 and IDSOL 2025 publish their results separately as per their own intricate ranking system, the KBI also has rankings for the top projects overall based on their presentations at ETO. Below are the results.

Diocesan Girls' School, a local grammar school with an international outlook, was founded in 1860 by the Anglican (Episcopalian) Church to provide an excellent all-round secondary education for girls in Hong Kong. The Emerging Technologies Olympiads (ETO) is a conference showcasing the combined top projects of that season from the International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) and the International Data Science Olympiad (IDSOL), both flagship programs of the decentralized collective Königsberger Bridges Institute (KBI).
